Geography
Hauser lake is located northwest of Coeur d'Alene at 47°46'44"N and 117°01'13"W. It covers 625 acres of land has an average depth of 21 feet.[1] To the south of the lake is the city of Hauser, Idaho.
History
Originally called Sucker lake and Mud Lake, the lake was renamed Hauser Lake in honor of Samuel Thomas Hauser who was a governor of Montana Territory and good friend of Daniel Chase Corbin, the baron of the Spokane Falls and Northern Railway.[2]
