Comment: See WP:BLP1E and given the presumption of innocence, the question is that without the current legal investigation, would there be an article? Unlikely since presumed notability in NL starts at the parliamentary level up to the crown. Perhaps a case for the mayor of Amsterdam. Take away the legal case there is insufficient notability. If found guilty and other sources show substantive notability then this may move the dial (and even then, it's not certain). ChrysGalley (talk) 14:37, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- I would like to have a second opnion of the review by ChrysGalley (talk · contribs). This is not a WP:BLP1E subject. The sources 1), 2) and 3) are all independent secondary sources before his suspicion of possessing child pornography including two from the 1980s! In line with that, the Dutch article was created in 2010. Next to that there are dozens of (former) mayors who are also not at parliamentary level or up to the crown at Category:Mayors by populated place in the Netherlands. ~2026-14049-06 (talk) 16:29, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yes 2026-14049-06 (talk · contribs), you can definitely have a second opinion (and more than two, if necessary). The easiest way to handle it is to make at least a few changes, it doesn't have to be much, but extra reliable sources are always welcome. Then just resubmit the draft. I will step back and some other editor can review it.

Jonker began his career as an adjoint civil servant at the Council of State. He later served as head of the Bureau for Simplified Procedures, a position he held for twelve years. In 1983 he became chairman of the Labour Party section in Gouda. In 1988 he was appointed mayor of Vessem, Wintelre en Knegsel.[1]
On 16 September 1996 Jonker was appointed mayor of Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. He remained in office until taking early retirement on 1 December 2011.[2]
In 2015 Jonker was appointed a knight of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. A year later he was made a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau. Jonker was also an accomplished magician. Under the pseudonym Robert List, he became Dutch national champion in magic in 1978 and served for many years as chairman of the magic association Magische Liga "Schakels 52" in Rotterdam.[3] He also served as chairman of the football club ASWH.[4]
On 17 February 2026 Jonker was arrested by police on suspicion of possessing child pornography. On 5 March his pre-trial detention was extended by ninety days.[5][6][7]
