History
INTENNSE launched its first season in June 2025 at the INTENNSE Arena in Decatur, Georgia.[2] The league featured three teams—Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Tampa—in weekend events called "Surges."[1] Team Atlanta won the inaugural championship during "Championship Weekend" in August 2025.[1]
In December 2025, INTENNSE announced expansion to 10 teams for 2026, all based in the Atlanta area. Plans call for a player draft in March 2026 at RacquetX in Florida.[4]
Format
INTENNSE matches use a timed structure different from ATP/WTA tours. Play happens in 10-minute "bolts" grouped into team contests called "Arcs."[1] Each Arc includes men's singles, women's singles, and rotating doubles (men's, women's, mixed).[2]
Teams have eight players (4 men, 4 women) plus a coach. Rules speed up play: limited time between points, single-serve, electronic line calls, and mid-match substitutions.[1][5] Weekend events with multiple Arcs are "Surges."[2]
The format aims for a predictable game length and more action time vs. traditional sets.[6]

Venue
INTENNSE events take place in studio arenas designed like music venues, with one central court and seating close to the action.[1] The 2025 season used INTENNSE Arena at Electric Owl Studios in Decatur, Georgia—a soundstage converted for tennis with production lighting and audio.[2][6]
For 2026, the league moved to Assembly Studios in Atlanta, a larger facility with room for 500 spectators.[7][8] Both venues focus attention on a single court to create an energetic atmosphere.[1]
