Growth
Ian Marcus Stapleton started his channel at around November 27, 2009. His first-ever Minecraft video, "Minecraft Cave Adventure (1 of 3)" was posted on September 14, 2010. But it has since been privated, along with some of his old Call of Duty videos, that he posted before that.
Ian's most popular series on youtube, is TrollCraft. Trollcraft is a series about Ian and his friends, prank each other in different ways. Trollcraft has received 6,869,683 views total, in its entire series.[2]
Life and history
Ian joined the military branch (Air Force) when he was in his young adult years and was happy with being in the military.
In 2006, Ian married Madelyn Joi and the pair had their first son named Colton. Later on, Ian and Madelyn got divorced but in 2014, Ian remarried Madelyn. In 2017, Ian and Madelyn both separated and got together again.
In November 2019, the pair had a son, and Ian has said that ever since their son's birth, they have been doing much better.
Controversies
Ian's Minecraft Public Server has been criticized for being P2W (Pay-to-win), with players feeling that the server is primarily designed to make money. There have been reports of false bans and the server not receiving updates, leading to a decline in player count and players questioning the server's longevity.[3]
Ian owns a server called DoubleJump. The Shards of Infinity (a mobile game studio) developer says her game, Cannon Brawl, is another victim of cloning after it was entered into a contest[4]
Companies
Ian has several companies that he owns, or works with. Multiple sources state that Ian owns the company DoubleJump. A Canadian game studio that focuses on creating games, often in collaboration with other influencers. DoubleJump has expanded and branched out into several niche-specific websites. They also acquired Tiny Mob, a gaming studio that develops free-to-play games.[5]
Ian is also the Community Manager of an EDM label named Ninety9Lives. It creates royalty-free music, to be produced and listened to by people across the world, according to them.[6]
