Inal Bilsel is a Cypriot composer, music producer, and academic.[1][2][3] In 2007, he won Notion Music's Realize Music Challenge; as part of the prize, his composition Nilay's Dream was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios.[4]His 2018 album Paradise Lost was released by Epic Istanbul, a Sony Music Turkey label.[5]

Career

Bilsel's work spans albums, audiovisual performance, and music for film and stage.[2][3] His 2018 album Paradise Lost was released by Epic Istanbul, a Sony Music Turkey label.[5][6] The album was also reviewed by Magazine Sixty.[7]

In 2018, Bilsel presented Tales From the Future at Sónar Istanbul. In a preview of the festival, Metal Magazine described him as one of the more notable acts of that year's programme and highlighted the work's post-apocalyptic audiovisual concept.[8]

Academic work

Bilsel completed doctoral research at Royal Holloway, University of London, where his thesis was titled Creating Small Worlds: Approaches to a Nostalgia Driven Concept Album.[9] He is Head of the Sound Arts and Design department at [[ARUCAD.[10]

Awards and recognition

In 2007, Bilsel won Notion Music's Realize Music Challenge, and his composition Nilay's Dream was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios as part of the prize.[4] In 2025, he was named a winner at the InterContinental Music Awards for Sleepwalker and A Night at the Cloudtop Imaginarium.[11]
