2019–2020: Early Career
In 2019, Jack Manifold started streaming on Twitch under the username Thunder1408, and began posting videos on YouTube in 2020. Manifold became interested in streaming after moderating the Twitch chat for streamer Wilbur Soot. At this time he joined the WilburSoot Minecraft Server, where he met fellow content creator TommyInnit.[3]
He uploaded his first YouTube video on 4 May 2020, titled "Terraria With TommyInnit Is Stupidly Funny", in which he plays the 2011 video game Terraria with content creators TommyInnit and Cyberonix, this video currently has over 300 thousand views.[4]
2020–2023: Rise to popularity and the Dream SMP
In August of 2020, he was added to an invite only Minecraft survival multiplayer server (SMP) called the Dream SMP, which featured many popular and upcoming creators at the time such as Jschlatt and Quackity.[5][6] This caused both his Twitch and YouTube to explode in popularity amassing over 1 million subscribers on YouTube within a year.[5]
During this time Manifold primarily streamed horror games such as Five Nights at Freddy's, and did You Laugh You Lose challenges with other creators such as GeorgeNotFound and Philza.[7][8] He would also stream on the Dream SMP and create other Minecraft related content, while he was not a primary character, the popularity of the Dream SMP would still heavily boost both his Twitch and YouTube channels. On YouTube he primarily made vlogs, occasionally creating reaction and gaming content, many of these videos featured his friends.
Additionally, Manifold regularly competes in the Minecraft Championship Series (MCC) regularly, a Minecraft competition where creators are split into teams, where they compete in a series of mini-games.[9][10] He would also compete in Creator Clash in 2023, a boxing competition between content creators on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. In this Creator Clash he would compete against Dakota Olave, a TikTok creator known for their skateboarding content. In this Creator Clash, he would beat Olave, and would dedicate his victory to Minecraft creator Technoblade, who passed away in 2022.[11][3]
2023–present
Since the closure of the Dream SMP in early 2023, Manifold has created a large amount of content since and has taken part in many events. He continued creating vlogs and gaming content on his main channel. In June 2023, he created a second channel called Jack, where he makes predominantly reaction content, he uploaded his first video on this channel on 17 March 2024, titled "Reading YouTuber's CRAZY First Tweets (w/ TommyInnit)".[12]
In September 2024, he and frequent collaborator TommyInnit created a podcast titled Shut Up I'm Talking, this has been a large focus for him and and his co-host, with the podcast uploading weekly, they often also collaborate with other creators, notable guests have included Dan and Phil,[13], Smosh,[14] and Jacksepticeye.[15]
