Jake Brasch is an American playwright, composer, and performer. His work for the stage often explores themes of family, addiction, recovery, and intergenerational relationships.

Early life and education

Brasch is originally from Denver, Colorado. He studied playwriting at the Juilliard School.[1]

Career

Brasch is a playwright and composer whose work has been produced and developed by several American regional theatres, including the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Alliance Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, and Berkeley Repertory Theatre.[2][3]

His plays often draw on autobiographical themes and have explored subjects such as addiction, recovery, and family dynamics.

His play The Reservoir has been produced at multiple regional theatres and was presented Off-Broadway by Atlantic Theater Company in 2026. The play and Brasch’s work were discussed in The New York Times in an article examining contemporary plays about recovery.[4]
