Biography
Bernard was born in Yuba City, California, and is of Italian, French, German, and Swedish descent. He studied at California State University, Chico, where he received a bachelor of science in business administration with a minor in drama in 2003 and was named to the Dean’s List.
He began acting in school and community theatre before pursuing work in television and film. His career includes appearances in several productions across different genres, as well as voice and motion-capture performances in major video games. He was known for his work as the cover soldier for the video games Call of Duty 3 (2006) and Medal of Honor: Heroes (2006), roles that established his presence in the gaming industry.
In 2019, Bernard appeared in Clemency, a drama directed by Chinonye Chukwu that won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize.[1] He played the role of a Death Watch Officer, performing alongside Alfre Woodard, Aldis Hodge, Richard Schiff, and Michael O’Neill. Around the same period, Bernard took on both acting and production duties in the independent limited series Dying for a Living, which got him recognition at several independent film festivals. He won the Best Acting Duo Award and the Outstanding Achievement Actor Award at the Indie Short Fest in 2022. In the following year, Bernard also won the Best Actor Award for Dying for a Living at the Indie House Film Festival.
Bernard’s work expanded into voice acting and video game performance, which includes portraying Simon Krieger in Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). In addition, he performs stand-up comedy and has written for stage and screen projects.
In October 2024, Bernard published his first children’s book, Jeddy’s Teddy: The True Story of a Boy and His Teddy Bear. The story was inspired by real-life events, and the book was released through BookBaby and other distributors.
Throughout his life, Bernard has lived in the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Mexico. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, and German, and is based in Los Angeles, California.
