Club Career

At the age of 15, Ayon signed a professional contract with Monarcas Morelia, joining the Liga MX club's under-20 squad.[1] He played with the squad until 2019, when he returned to the United States and joined the academy of the San Jose Earthquakes. He played with the Earthquakes academy until 2022, when he was signed to a professional contract with San Jose Earthquakes II, the club's reserve team.[2]

Ayon was part of the inaugural roster for Earthquakes II, among the eight players signed specifically to the team rather than being academy call-ups or first team players on loan. After the inaugural campaign, Ayon was brought back for the 2023 season.[3] He played with fellow Salinas native and El Camino FC academy alum Emmanuel Ochoa in his two seasons with the team.[4] Ayon served as captain for Earthquakes II in a preseason match against the newly formed Monterey Bay FC 2, in his hometown of Salinas.[5] Ayon was not brought back following the 2023 MLS Next Pro season.[6]

Ayon signed for Monterey Bay FC on April 15, 2024.[7] He had previously been training with the club while recovering from a wrist injury before he was officially signed to a contract. Ayon made his debut with Monterey Bay FC on April 17, 2024, in a US Open Cup match vs Irvine Zeta, scoring both of Monterey Bay's goals in a 2–1 victory.[8] Ayon was out of contract with the club following the end of their 2024 season.[9]

International career

Ayon represented the United States at the U16 and U18 levels.[10][11]
