Jhoan Sebastian Grey (born 1986) is a Colombian fashion designer [1] based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is best known for winning the seventeenth season of Project Runway in 2019 and for founding the fashion labels Jhoan Sebastian Grey and Grey by Jhoan Sebastian Grey.

Early life and education
Grey was born in Cali, Colombia, in 1986. Prior to relocating to the United States, he worked in the Colombian fashion industry with designers including Johanna Ortiz, Lina Cantillo, and Andrés Otálora.
In 2017, he moved to the United States and established his career in South Florida. He later completed a Master of Arts in Fashion and Luxury Brand Management at Istituto Marangoni Miami.[2]
Career
Project Runway
Grey gained international recognition after winning the seventeenth season of Project Runway in 2019. Following his victory, he received media coverage from fashion and lifestyle publications and expanded his business internationally.[3]
Following his win on Project Runway, Grey collaborated with Bluprint, an online learning platform owned by NBCUniversal, where he hosted the instructional sewing series Fashion Sewing with Jhoan Sebastian Grey, focused on fashion design and garment construction techniques.[4] Following his win on Project Runway, Grey was featured in interviews and fashion media discussing his design approach, career development, and transition into television retail.[5]

In 2018, Grey founded the contemporary fashion label Jhoan Sebastian Grey.
In 2020, he presented the collection Lineage during New York Fashion Week. The collection drew inspiration from his Colombian heritage, family history, and artisanal leather craftsmanship.[6]
Grey by Jhoan Sebastian Grey
In 2024, Grey launched Grey by Jhoan Sebastian Grey, a fashion collection developed for television retail. The line debuted on HSN in the United States and later became available through QVC Italia and TSC Canada.[7]
Miami Fashion Week
Grey participated in Miami Fashion Week and was recognized through the Virtual Fashion Awards. [8] His collection Quiet Grief explored themes of memory, vulnerability, and personal reflection.
In 2026, he received the award for Best Overall Virtual Fashion Vision through the Virtual Fashion Awards program.
Design approach
Grey's work combines contemporary fashion with artisanal craftsmanship. His collections frequently incorporate leather techniques, textile development, and references to Colombian culture and heritage.
