History
Joris Ide was founded in 1985 in Zwevezele, Belgium.[3] By the mid-2010s the group had expanded into a pan-European manufacturer of insulated panels and related building products.[5][2][1]
In January 2015, Kingspan announced an agreement to acquire the Joris Ide Group for €315 million.[5][7][8] The transaction was cleared by the European Commission in March 2015 under the EU Merger Regulation and subsequently completed.[6][9]
Operations
Joris Ide produces and supplies steel building envelope products used in industrial, logistics, commercial, residential and agricultural construction.[1][5] At the time of the Kingspan acquisition, public reporting described Joris Ide as operating multiple manufacturing sites across Europe, including insulated panel facilities and regional manufacturing locations.[1][2] The European Commission’s merger decision described Joris Ide as manufacturing sandwich panels and construction sheets with facilities in several European countries (including Belgium, France, Germany and Romania).[4]
