Jung Chang-sun (Korean: 정창선; born 1942) is a South Korean businessman and the founder of Jungheung Construction Group. He is known for leading the group's growth from a regional firm into one of South Korea's largest conglomerates, a process marked by the acquisition of Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) in 2021. Career
Jung founded Jungheung Construction Co., Ltd. in 1983. By 2015, the company had entered the ranks of South Korea's top 30 business conglomerates. [2]
In 2018, Jung was elected as the 23rd Chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he served until 2021. Under his leadership, Jungheung Group completed the acquisition of Daewoo E&C in 2021, significantly expanding its presence in the international construction market. [3]
Education
Jung attended the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Chonnam National University. In the 2010s, he received an honorary Ph.D. in Business Administration from the university in recognition of his contributions to the regional and national economy.
