Altaf was born on 17 April 1999 in Jammu and Kashmir, India.[10] She took up judo during her early years and first competed in local district events. Over time, she progressed through state-level competitions before moving on to national tournaments.[11][12]

Career

Altaf has represented Jammu and Kashmir in domestic judo competitions across India. She won a silver medal at the 2019 Khelo India Games and a bronze medal at the 2020 edition held in Guwahati.[13] She has also secured podium finishes at the National Cadet and Junior Judo Championships and the National Youth Championships between 2014 and 2018.[14]
