Background and early life
Kaushik Das and Subhadeep Das were born and raised in Barrackpore, Kolkata, West Bengal.[2] They are first cousins and began collaborating on music at an early age.[2]
Kaushik Das trained in Hindustani classical music under Pandit Ajay Chakraborty.[2] Subhadeep Das developed an interest in Western music genres including blues, jazz, and rock.[2]
Career
The duo moved to Mumbai in 2013 to pursue opportunities in the Indian film industry.[2] In their early years, they contributed to music projects alongside established composers before working independently.[2]
Breakthrough and works
Their early recognition came with the song "Tera Hoke Rahoon" from the film Behen Hogi Teri (2017), sung by Arijit Singh.[2]
They have since composed songs for Hindi films including:
In 2025, they composed "Deewaniyat" for the album Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.[4] The song contributed to their appearance on Spotify's Top Artists India chart.[4]
Musical style
Their work has been described as combining elements of Indian classical and Western musical styles.[2] Their compositions often focus on melody-driven arrangements.[5]
The duo have also contributed vocals to some of their compositions, including parts of "Deewaniyat".[6]
