On August 13, 2025, Deadline reported that Boulderlight Pictures were shopping around their first television series, a high-concept comedy that was originated from an idea by Boulderlight's J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, titled Last Night Was A Movie, whom they partnered with comedy sketch group Almost Friday for the project. Ben Purdy of Boulderlight Television developed the project with Tyler Falbo, who will get creator's credit; and Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault whom they'll serve as showrunners and executive producers. Almost Friday members Billy Langdon, Liam Cullagh, Chet Collins, Eilise Patton, and Will Angus, will be involved as writers and producers, as well as doing some on-screen work. A+E Studios and Range Studios will serve as the studio for the project. The multiple buyers vying for the project include Netflix, FX, HBO, and Peacock, the latter two of which already wrote offers.[1]
On October 16, 2025, Deadline reported that project is heading to FX for development.[2]
