Lee Hack-young (Korean: 이학영; born April 16, 1952) is a South Korean politician and social activist currently serving as the Vice Speaker of the 22nd National Assembly. He is a member of the Democratic Party of Korea and a four-term legislator representing the Gunpo constituency.[1]

Early life and education
Lee was born in 1952 in Jeongeup, North Jeolla Province. He attended Chonnam National University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Korean Language and Literature in the 1970s.[2]
Career
Civil society
Prior to entering politics, Lee held leadership positions in South Korean civil society organisations. He served as the Secretary General of YMCA Korea from 2003 to 2011.[3]
Politics
Lee was first elected to the National Assembly in 2012 (19th Assembly). He has since served in the 20th, 21st, and 22nd National Assemblies. In 2020, during the 21st National Assembly, he served as the Chairman of the Industrial Trade, Energy, and SMEs Committee.[2]
On June 5, 2024, Lee was elected as the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly for the first half of its 22nd term.[1]
