Life of Luxury has received media attention for controversies regarding staged content, including a widely reported incident in which a fabricated predator investigation video drew heavy criticism from local news outlets. Additionally, a clip from the channel was misidentified as footage taken from the "Epstein files," a claim later debunked by mainstream fact-checking websites.

History

Early years and controversy

Before rebranding to "Life of Luxury", the channel went under the moniker of "Luxury Pranks". There, they would post prank-oriented videos and fabricated predator-catch videos.[1] Following its rebranding, a hoax video purportedly following and investigating a sex offender in the town of Tonawanda was shared. This video went viral, causing the Amherst police department to contact Hajiaskari, who apologized for any alarm and claimed the video was for 'entertainment purposes only'.[2][3][4]

Horror content

Life of Luxury creates scripted horror videos shot in a found-footage style. Most episodes follow the hosts as they respond to fictional messages from people who request help, report strange creatures, disturbing behavior, or other paranormal events. The uploads center on exaggerated horror scenarios and are presented as entertainment. According to JustWatch, the series is available to watch on Tubi.[5] The episode "Her Son Can’t Stop Growing" was broadcast at Spectacle Theater in New York, with the theater describing the channel’s videos as a mix of elements from Paranormal Activity and Catfish, highlighting the humor and abnormality of the series.[6] Indonesian entertainment outlet KUYOU.ID published a list of the channel's scariest uploads, providing commentary for each.[7]

Epstein files misinformation

In February 2026, a clip from a Life of Luxury episode was widely shared on social media with the false claim that it showed “footage from the Epstein files.” The video, “It Crawled Into Her Bed at Night…” depicts a fictional scenario, a woman held in a cage. Fact-checking organizations were quick to prove it had no connection to any real investigation or legal case, but rather a scripted video. Websites including BOOM, AltNews, Fact Crescendo, Newschecker, Misbar, and Vishvas News released analyses identifying the footage as content from the series and debunking the claim.[8][9][10][11][12][13]
