History

Lipoplast was founded in 1994 by Valeriu Cîrpanu, an ophthalmologist turned entrepreneur, who started the business in a 300 m² rented hall in Timișoara.[3]

Initially focused on joinery and hardware, the company expanded into glass processing, introducing insulated and laminated glass production technologies.[4]

By the early 2000s, Lipoplast began exporting to Western Europe, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany.[1] Its international reach has since expanded to over ten countries in Europe and North America.[1]

Operations

Lipoplast's product portfolio includes insulating glass units, security glass, decorative and enamelled glass, as well as PVC and aluminium joinery.[1] The firm also produces roller shutters and insect screens.[1]

The company holds an international NAMI certification for insulated glass products.[5] It also registered the "Luxor" trademark in 2018 with the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM).[6]

Financial performance

In 2024, Lipoplast reported a turnover exceeding 60 million RON and employed 176 people.[1][2]
