Draft:List of Dead by Daylight characters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror video game Dead by Daylight, developed and published by Behaviour Interactive, includes a total of 89 playable characters. Within the fictional universe of the game, a malevolent being known as the Entity exists in a realm between dimensions and has abducted multiple people to satisfy its hunger. To sustain itself, the Entity sets up trials in its own realm, where 4 individuals, labelled as the Survivors, have to survive against another creature known as the Killer, that seeks to sacrifice them on hooks to the entity. The goal of the Survivors is to power up enough generators so that they can open the exit gates and escape from the map, until the next trial begins.
As of September 2025, Dead by Daylight includes 49 Survivors and 40 Killers. At the game's release, there were only 4 Survivors and 3 Killers. Since the release of the game, various characters have been added as downloadable content. Some are original characters designed by Behaviour, while others originate from various horror franchises, including films, television series, and video games.
Each Killer has unique abilities to help them hunt down Survivors and either sacrifice them to the Entity or kill them. All characters come with three unique perks that can help them during matches; if a character is levelled up (referred to in the game as "Prestige") then their abilities are unlocked for all other characters in the same category.

Orela Rose
Orela Rose was born in Rogers Park, Chicago, and inspired by her parents to lead a life of helping others; her father was a firefighter and her mother a nurse. While in college, Orela became close friends with a fellow classmate named Emily, who helped her during her gender transition. During one Halloween night, Emily was gravely injured and passed away in Orela's arms, before emergency medical technicians (EMTs) could arrive.[1] Emily's death prompted Orela to drop out of college and pursue a career as an EMT. One night, Orela found herself surrounded by the Entity's fog. Hearing people crying out in anguish and calling for help, including Emily's voice, Orela chose to enter the fog in the hopes of helping the people she came across.[2]
According to Behaviour, Orela's perks are "informed by her personality and backstory" and her character is suited for a support role during matches, using her abilities to help her fellow Survivors stay alive.[2] Bloody Disgusting's Mike Wilson similarly noted that Orela is a "truly altruistic Survivor" and that her perks match her personality, being the "ideal support Survivor".[3]
Orela was first revealed on April 15, 2025, and became available with the release of Steady Pulse on May 16.[3][1]
Following Orela's announcement, Will Nelson of PCGamesN stated that, due to her perks, Orela "could end up being one of the best [characters]" in Dead by Daylight.[4]
