Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone Receptor Antagonist
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MZ-5-156 is a growth hormone-releasing hormone antagonist that has been shown to drastically reduce GH and downstream insulin-like growth factor secretion in mice.[1] MZ-5-156 has been used in scientific research to induce a reversible and transient GH-deficient state, as well as an investigative agent for reducing the proliferation of tumor cells.[1][2]

Effect on telomere length
MZ-5-156 has been shown to increase telomere length and mean life expectancy in mice in aged SAMP8 mice,[3] a mouse strain known to develop early onset cognitive deficits and shortened life expectancy.[4]
Cancer treatment
MZ-5-156 has been shown to reduce GH and IGF levels drastically in mice. One study found that treatment with MZ-5-156 decreased the expression of IGF-II mRNA by 58%.[1]
