Mainak Ghosal (born 10 February 1972) is an Indian civil engineer and a Registered Valuer. He is the founder of Mainak Ghosal Enterprises (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. (brand name Mainak Ghosal & Co.). He specializes in structural engineering consultancy and land and building valuation for the banking and infrastructure sectors.[1]
Education
Ghosal completed his Bachelor of Science from the University of Calcutta in 1992. He holds a Master of Structural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (IIEST Shibpur) and an MBA from IGNOU. He is currently a doctoral research scholar at IIEST Shibpur, focusing on nanotechnology in cement concrete.[2]
Career
Engineering and Public Service
Ghosal served as an Assistant Engineer in the Public Health Engineering Department of the Government of West Bengal. His professional career includes roles at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Madras Pile Foundation. He has over 25 years of industrial experience in structural design, consultancy, and audits for multi-storied buildings.
Valuation and Consultancy
Ghosal is a Registered Valuer for the asset class of Land and Building, registered with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) under registration number IBBI/RV/02/2023/15337.[3] He currently serves as the Chairman of the All India Valuers Association (AIVA), West Bengal Center.
In 2025, he incorporated Mainak Ghosal Enterprises (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. to provide integrated engineering advisory and property valuation services.[4]
Professional and Academic Roles
He has served as a Governing Council Member of the Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE) and as Secretary of the Consulting Engineers Association of India (Kolkata Region). In 2022, he was an invited speaker for an online lecture at the Russian Energy Week in Moscow.[5]
