History

MLT was founded by John Rice in 2002.[2] Its mission is to increase the presence of minorities in fast track entry-level jobs and major graduate business schools as preparation for leadership positions in corporations, non-profit organizations and entrepreneurial ventures. It is supported through a combination of grants, support from industry organizations, and tuition. Industry partners include McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs, PepsiCo, Citigroup, and CoStar Group.[3]

Programs

As of 2002, MLT launched a 12-month MBA Prep program. From MLT's MBA Prep program, 55% of applicants to top MBA programs in 2005 were accepted compared to the 18% for all applicants. Over 90% of MLT students were accepted into one of their top three business schools.

As of 2012, MLT was a top source of minority students for the nation’s top ten MBA programs. 40% of the minority students in the Harvard Business School and The Wharton School were alumni of MLT’s MBA Preparation Program.

They also run a Career Preparation program for college juniors and seniors entering business-related jobs, focused on succeeding in an internship after their junior year and beyond. [4]
