Early life and career
Manndakini Bora was introduced to music at an early age under the influence of her grandfather, Girindra Nath Bora, a classical vocalist and accomplished sitar player. He was also known for translating Ram Charit Manas by Tulsidas into Assamese. She received training and guidance from Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, and during the early years of her career, shared the stage with Bhupen Hazarika.
Bora later gained wider recognition through her work as a playback singer in the Hindi film Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3, where she sang alongside Arijit Singh.
Her devotional songs Kanha Kanha and Jai Siya Ram, have found a large audience on digital platforms. Her Assamese rendition of Dil Hoom Hoom Kare was noted for its emotional resonance.
Bora has taken part in live performances in India and abroad, and sings in several languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, and Assamese.
She was a finalist at Channel V's "Super Singer" reality show.
