Comment: The "A London Taco and Tequila Joint Is Giving Staff a Coveted Perk" and the "Markus Thesleff on 50 years of Sale e Pepe: 'You’re competing with people's memories that aren't real'" are probably just usable for supporting a claim to notability, but both are a bit marginal. They're articles about restaurants that include some content about the article subject. Everything else is bare mentions. We need at least three sources, and I'd like to see at least one that is about Thesleff rather than about Thesleff discussing his restaurants. Valereee (talk) 13:41, 19 February 2026 (UTC)

Career
Thesleff began his career in the hospitality industry working in nightlife, including involvement in the development of the nightclub concept Pangaea, which operated in London and Marbella. He later co-founded hospitality venues in Dubai, including the restaurant OKKU, which subsequently expanded to Riyadh.[2][3][4][5]
After more than a decade working in the Middle East, Thesleff founded Thesleff Group upon his return to London in 2019 and has been based there since.[2][6] The group operates a portfolio of restaurant and bar concepts, most notably Los Mochis, which combines Japanese and Mexican cuisine. Los Mochis Notting Hill, which opened in 2021, was developed with a focus on accommodating diners with food allergies.[2]
The group later expanded its London operations with additional openings, including omakase restaurants LUNA and JUNO Omakase, which are hidden inside Los Mochis locations.[2] In late 2022, Thesleff acquired Sale e Pepe, a long-established Italian restaurant in Knightsbridge, which he reopened following an extensive refurbishment.[7]
In 2026, Thesleff commented publicly on the impact of UK tax policy on the hospitality sector and confirmed further international expansion plans for his restaurant group, including new openings outside the UK.[8]
Recognition
Thesleff's work has been profiled by Forbes.[2] He has also been included in The Standard's annual list of people shaping London's food and restaurant scene,[9] and in Caterer Middle East's Power 50 list of influential figures in the food and beverage industry in the Middle East in 2013.[10]
