Early life and education
Chuard was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1973. He earned a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Lausanne.
Career
Temenos (2002–2023)
Chuard joined Temenos in 2002, initially working on mergers and acquisitions. The company completed over 15 acquisitions during his tenure, including Odyssey,[4] Viveo,[5] Akcelerant,[6] Multifonds,[7] Avoka[8] and Kony.[9]
In 2012,[10] he was appointed chief financial officer, overseeing global finance, investor relations, planning, internal controls, and treasury.
In 2015, he assumed the expanded role of chief operating officer while retaining the CFO position.
Chuard was named chief executive officer in 2019.[11] During this period, Temenos reached a valuation USD 12 billion that placed it among Europe's most prominent software companies.[12] Chuard was recognized as a top SaaS CEO.[13]
In November 2022, Temenos reported that its digital banking platform had 850 clients.[14] In December 2022, the company scored 80 out of 100 in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index[15] for the software and services industry and received an A- rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project.
In January 2023,[16] Chuard announced he was stepping down as CEO after more than two decades with Temenos to spend more time with his young family and to manage his family office.
Professional investor (2023–)
Following his departure from Temenos, Chuard has become an active investor[17] through his family office, Astir Capital[18], which invests in traditional asset classes, real estate and private equity. Astir Capital is an investor and shareholder of the GP in LakeRock Capital,[19] a Swiss real estate fund, and a strategic investor and part owner[20] of Aperture Capital, a Swiss venture fund focused on early growth fintech, where Chuard acts as a Partner and Investment Committee member.
Board memberships and advisory roles
Chuard is a Board member at Aperture SA[21], the holding company of the Aperture Group which includes Aperture Capital as a subsidiary.
Chuard also conducts advisory work on behalf of large PE firms looking to invest in the software industry.
Personal life
Chuard met his wife, Aurélie Widmer in 2007 and they married in Greece in 2011. The couple has three children and lives in Collonge Bellerive, Switzerland.
