Mitesh Kumar Patel is an Indian-born American film producer, director, and entrepreneur known for his work in independent cinema. He is the founder and CEO of Applied Art Productions.


Career

In 1997, Patel founded Applied Art Productions in India, a media and entertainment company based in Chandler, Arizona. In 2016, Patel established the Chandler International Film Festival (CIFF), held annually in Chandler, Arizona. CIFF has screened films from more than 35 countries and includes workshops, networking events, and industry panels.[1] He also won the Award of Merit in 2016 for Neron at the Accolade Global Film Competition.[2]

Patel made his debut as a director with the psychological thriller The Man in the Maze.[3] The movie was released in India before being shown in US theatres.[4] The Man in the Maze movie was presented at the Mississippi International Film Festival.[5] Patel went on to direct and produce movies including Instant Karma,[6] House of Quarantine, and Anti Corona Virus which is a film based on the Coronavirus pandemic.[7]

Patel's film The Man in the Maze won the 2011 Silver Ace Award at the Las Vegas Film Festival.[8] His film Woman in The Maze was featured at the Moonwhite International Film Festival.[9] Patel is the founder and director of the American Film Convention.[10] He also worked on a movie Woman in the Maze for which he was awarded at the Director Talents Movie Awards.[11] In addition, Patel made a horror movie Child of Satan, which is reminiscent of The Omen. Eric Roberts is playing in the film.[12] He discussed his intentions to make a movie about the life of Narendra Modi, which will be a type of biopic.[13]
