Mitratech Legal is the legal technology division of Mitratech Holdings, Inc., a privately held enterprise software company headquartered in Bee Cave, Texas, that develops software and services for corporate legal departments and law firms.[1] Its products cover enterprise legal management, matter and case management, document automation, legal hold, workflow automation, and immigration case management.

History
Mitratech was founded in 1987 as a software provider for corporate legal departments.[2] The company's early products focused on matter management and legal billing for in-house legal teams.
In April 2017, the private equity firm Hg made an investment in Mitratech to support product development and international expansion.[3] In March 2021, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board acquired a majority stake in the company, with Hg retaining a minority interest.[4]
Mitratech has expanded through a series of acquisitions across legal technology, GRC, and HR software. In 2015, it acquired Bridgeway Software[5] and CaseTrack[6]. In 2018, it acquired ThinkSmart[7]. In 2020, the company acquired Tracker, a provider of immigration compliance software[8]; Acuity ELM[citation needed]; and INSZoom, an immigration case management platform[9]. In 2021, it acquired AdvanceLaw, a legal spend analytics platform[10]. In 2024, it acquired HotDocs, a document automation software provider[11], and Advologix.

Its enterprise legal management (ELM) software, sold under the TeamConnect brand, is used by corporate legal departments to manage legal matters, track outside counsel billing, and handle legal holds for litigation and regulatory compliance.[citation needed] The company also offers document automation software, matter intake tools, and contract management applications.[citation needed]
The company's immigration case management software, marketed under the Tracker brand, is used by corporations and law firms to manage visa and work authorization processes.[citation needed]
Some products incorporate artificial intelligence for tasks such as document analysis and workflow automation.[12]
