The band prioritizes emotional ambiguity, going against the notion of music being a medium of story telling. They do this in an attempt to make listening to their music an emotional experience, and state that their music should be challenging, spiritual, nostalgic, and meaningful, all at the same time[3].
History
In 2016, Modern Cinema Master released three demo songs online. A demo song that was later added to their albums was "Last Beach Boy (最後一個海灘少年), the only demo song the band chose to publish on future albums.[4]
In 2017, the band halted activity due to membership changes within the band.
In October of 2019, they officially released two mini-albums, "State[5]" and "Pattern[6]," which were their first official releases onto musical platforms such as Spotify.
In 2021, the band released "Tell Me Where They Were Originally From (告訴我他們都在本來的什麼地方)[7]." This album contained fifteen songs[8] and signaled the band's shift into increased music production.
This was followed up in 2024 with "You are Looking at that Distant Place (你在注視那遙遠的地方)[9]," an album containing 16 songs[10].
In 2025, their next and most recent publication was a single, titled "Three Hall Movie (三廳電影)." Not only this, but they won the 16th Indie Golden Industry Award for the best live performance due to their intense and immersive set.[11] The band also went on tour to the Pentaport Rock festival[12] in South Korea. They went on yet another tour all across China, most famously stopping at Shanghai[13]. The band did a "mini-tour" across the country of Taiwan, stopping at Taipei, Kaohsiung, and other major cities[14]. Lastly, the band went to SXSW Sydney in Australia[15].
