Mohammed Althaf (born 15 July) is an Indian actor, martial artist, technologist, artificial intelligence expert, and research scientist. He is known for his work in Malayalam cinema.he made his film debut in the Malyalam comedy film Our Caribbean Udayippu (2018), directed by Jogy Jose and produced by R. V. K. Nair under the banner of Karthikeyan Cinemas. He later appeared in the family drama comedy film Vakathirivu (2019), directed by K. K. Muhammedali under the banner of Blackcat Entertainments.[1][2][3][4]
Born in Ernakulam, Kerala, India, Althaf in his early childhood moved to Delhi with his parents, where he completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Andrews Ganj. he graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Applications before moving to the United Kingdom to pursue postgraduate studies in Artificial Intelligence.[5][6]
Althaf began appearing on screen as a child actor through music videos and modeling assignments. Alongside his work in cinema, he has been associated with technology and artificial intelligence research, particularly in the development and application of emerging technologies including strategic defence and healthcare technologies.[7][8]
Early life and education
Althaf was born in Kochi, Kerala, India. During his early childhood, he moved to Delhi with his family, where he completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya Andrews Ganj.
During his school years, Althaf developed an interest in performing arts and media, and began appearing in music albums and modelling assignments as a child actor. These early appearances introduced him to an on-screen performance prior to his later entry into cinema.[9][10][11]
Alongside his academic activities, Althaf was active in sports and is a School Games Federation of India Player. He represented his school in inline speed skating.[12]
He later pursued a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), developing an academic interest in computer science and emerging technologies. Following his undergraduate studies, he moved to the United Kingdom to undertake postgraduate studies in Artificial Intelligence. During this period he developed interests in technology development and research-oriented applications of artificial intelligence, including areas such as defence and healthcare technologies.[13][14]
In 2025, he was honoured with the APJ Abdul Kalam Science and Innovation Award by the Award Trust of India for contributions to scientific research , technology, and national development.[15]
