The Matriarch is an analog semi-modular synthesizer released by Moog, incorporating circuits based on the Moog modular synthesizer Model 15 and the Minimoog. It is an extended version of the Moog Grandmother.

Comparison with Grandmother
With the Matriarch being marketed as an extended version the Grandmother, there are three notable technical differences. While the Grandmother is monophonic, the Matriarch is paraphonic. The Matriarch has two more oscillators than the Grandmother. The final technical difference is the onboard effect which is entirely different in both synths, the Grandmother having a spring reverb and the Matriarch having an analog delay.[citation needed]
