Moritz Baer is a German climate finance researcher whose work has examined climate-related financial risk and the use of scenarios in economic and financial analysis.[1][2]


Work

Baer has worked in climate finance research in the United Kingdom, including affiliations with the University of Oxford’s Institute for New Economic Thinking and with research initiatives linked to the London School of Economics.[3][4]

In 2025, Baer was part of the author team for a global survey on the treatment of climate-related risks by ministries of finance, which was reported by the LSE Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment.[5]

Research co-authored by Baer on the financial implications of delaying corporate climate action was reported by BusinessGreen and Investments & Pensions Europe.[1][2]
