Comment: It might be a bit too soon on this one. The first source is likely reliable, and the other Finnish source may be good but the rest are either from the steam page directly (primary source, all it does is make it clear that this exists) or from low-quality websites that aren't good sources. My advice is to wait until the game gets reviewed by some reliable publications first, I'm sure it will get that since My Summer Car did so. That's all I have to say. Good luck! S.G. Gameplay and setting
My Winter Car, akin to its prequel is set in the fictional town of Alivieska, Finland, during the winter of 1999. The player's main objective is to assemble a Corris Rivett (modeled after the Ford Taunus TC) from scratch.

At the start of the game, the player only has a Sorbet 1600 LTD (modeled after a Talbot 1510) which serves as a secondary transport vehicle while the main project car is being built. The player must order the body for the Corris Rivett, and buy parts for it from either the mechanic, or order them from magazine listings. The complete assembly of the car and engine includes almost 200 unique parts.[2] The Rivett features multiple body types and years of make, which are dictated by the randomized VIN code at the start of the game. The player may museum register the Rivett by matching every part with the designated VIN code.
The game retains the "survival" meters from My Summer Car, requiring the player to manage hunger, thirst, fatigue, stress, and hygiene. However, a new meter has also been added with that being the body temperature meter. Players must ensure they remain warm by using indoor heating and wearing appropriate clothing.[3]
Environmental hazards are also increased, with snowy roads affecting vehicle traction and the shorter daylight hours of the Finnish winter impacting visibility and task management.
Development
My Winter Car was originally announced on 29 May 2020,[4] but the release of the game was delayed. In 2022, the game's developer published cryptically interpretable information about the game's possible release date on Steam.[5] On 30 December 2024, an update was released along with an announcement stating that "the game is transitioning away from Early Access", and that a sequel was under active development.[6] On 8 January 2025, My Summer Car was officially released from Early Access on Steam along with the release of a new game trailer. The same year, on 29 December 2025, My Winter Car was released into Early Access on Steam.
