About
Heywoode and Edwards first worked together in 2014 on Stockport band Blossoms' first release, while Heywoode was running the independent label RIP Records[1] and Edwards working as an A&R agent for Virgin EMI Records.[5]
The pair founded Nice Swan Records together in 2016.[1][2][3]
As of May 2024 Edwards was based in Macclesfield while Heywoode was based in Leigh-on-Sea.[5]
The label has been described as a "tastemaker",[3][6][7] with many acts on its line-up going on to receive critical acclaim and award, including Pip Blom, who won a Music Moves Europe Award in 2018,[8] English Teacher, who won the Mercury Prize in 2024,[9] and Westside Cowboy,[10] who won Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition in 2025.[11]
