History
OMC Power was founded in 2011 by Rohit Chandra, Sushil Jiwarajka, and Anil Raj.[3][4][8]
In January 2015, OMC Power with other Renewable energy companies signed a letter to Barack Obama to collaborate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop a "Power India" initiative.[9]
In 2016, The Rockefeller Foundation partnered with OMC Power for construction of minigrids and community activities in rural Uttar Pradesh, India.[10][11]
Operations
OMC Power started its distributed energy operations from rural areas of Indian state Uttar Pradesh and it is operational in multiple villages with capacities ranging from 36 to 50 Kw.[12][13][8]
In 2023, OMC installed a rooftop solar system at KGMU, Lucknow followed by other healthcare institutions in Uttar Pradesh.[14][15]
Investments and Partnerships
In 2017, OMC Power collaborated with Japanese company Mitsui & Co..[16][17]
In May 2022, Chubu Electric Power bought stake in OMC Power at an agreed value of 5 billion yen ($39 million).[18]
Honda became the third Japanese entity to invests in OMC Power in October 2025[19] to repurpose the old EV batteries for clean energy supply[20][21]
