Paul Young
Paul Young (born July 5, 1969) is an American film and television producer, the CEO of Starburns Industries, the studio behind “Rick and Morty” and “Anomalisa,”[1] and the co-founder of the management-production company, Principato-Young Entertainment.[2]
Principato-Young Entertainment
Paul Young and partner Peter Principato founded Principato-Young Entertainment (PYE), a management and production company, in 2000.[2] In 2007, the company inked a two year, first look production deal with Fox.[3] Young was named by Variety as one of the top 10 producers to watch in 2016.[4] That year he also won an Emmy for executive producing “Key and Peele.”[5] In 2017, Young exited Principato-Young Entertainment by selling his stake to Electus during its acquisition, giving it majority ownership of the firm, which then rebranded as Artists First.[6]
Starburns Industries
Young became a partner at Starburns Industries in 2021, when his management of founders Dino Stamatopoulos and Duke Johnson led to an expansion of their relationship. In 2026 Young was appointed as the CEO of Starburns Industries along with the announcement of their company film fund.[1] The inaugural project for the film fund is “Lincoln in the Bardo” starring Tom Hanks as Abraham Lincoln.[7]
Early Career
Young was formerly head of Polestar Management for two years. Before that, he was an executive at Paramount Pictures and a reporter for Daily Variety.[2]
