Origin
The surname is indigenous to the hilly regions (Pahad) of Central and Eastern Nepal. Historically, families bearing this name are concentrated in the Kavrepalanchok District and Sindhupalchok District. Like other Khas groups, they are part of the Indo-Aryan migration that moved eastward through the Himalayas.[3]
