Prakash Chauhan (born 15 May 1969) is an Indian space scientist and the current Director of the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), a constituent unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He is known for his pioneering contributions to remote sensing applications in geosciences, atmospheric and ocean studies, and planetary exploration.[1]

Early life and education
Chauhan obtained his postgraduate degree in Applied Geophysics from the University of Roorkee (now Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee) and later earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad.[2]
Career
He joined ISRO in 1991 as a Scientist at the Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. His research has focused on the use of space technology and remote sensing for:
- Geosciences and natural resource management
- Atmospheric and oceanographic studies
- Planetary remote sensing, including lunar and Martian exploration through Indian missions[3]
