History
Protime was founded on 12 January 1995 by Peter s'Jongers, Piet Verstraete, Eric Timmermans and Luc Timmermans to develop time recording software. In its early years, the company sold its software alongside traditional clocking-in devices manufactured by the German firm ISGUS.[2][non-primary source needed]
In 2008, Protime was acquired by the Belgian HR services group SD Worx, and in the same year acquired the Dutch company Prosphera. The company opened offices in Paris in 2009 and Manchester in 2010.[2][non-primary source needed]
In 2018, Protime acquired the Belgian start-up Horaire Online, now known as Strobbo, extending its activities to small and medium-sized businesses in the hospitality and retail sectors.[2][non-primary source needed] In December 2023, Protime acquired the Spanish workforce management firm SoftMachine.[3][non-primary source needed] In 2024, Protime acquired Sheepblue, an Austrian AI-based workforce planning software developer.[4][non-primary source needed]
Gille Sebrechts was appointed chief executive in January 2023, succeeding founder Peter s'Jongers, who became chairman of the board.[5] In September 2025, Jan Van Autreve succeeded Sebrechts as chief executive.[6]
In January 2024, Protime became a co-title sponsor of the SD Worx-Protime professional women's cycling team alongside parent company SD Worx, in a three-year sponsorship arrangement.[7]

Protime develops and sells software for time and attendance recording and workforce planning, used by businesses across Europe.[4][non-primary source needed] The company also commissions and publishes research on workforce trends, including a 2024 study on unpaid overtime in the United Kingdom that received coverage in HR trade press.[8][9]
