History
During World War I, these hoppers were converted to tankers due to the lack of fuelling ships. They were all coal powered and were all built on the River Clyde. After they were acquired by the Admiralty, they were renamed as features of the Thames. In 1920, they returned to be PLAs with their old names. In 1961, it was sold to Foremost Dredging and renamed as Seastone and converted to a sand suction dredger. It was broken up in February 1982.[1]
