History

RedBox Rx was launched on December 15, 2021 by Hy-Vee to provide telehealth consultations and prescription medication delivery service.[4][5] At its launch, the service treated conditions including primary care, mental health, men's and women's health, dermatology, and other conditions.[4][5]

In early 2022, RedBox Rx commissioned a Morning Consult survey which found that Americans living farther from pharmacies or primary-care providers reported lower satisfaction with mental health and overall health.[6] In 2023, RedBox Rx did another Morning Consult survey which found that nearly three-quarters of U.S. adults and 53 percent of Gen Z were struggling with mental health, with loneliness emerging as a key driver.[7][8]

In 2024, RedBox Rx added online talk therapy to its platform.[9][10]

Operations

RedBox Rx provides telehealth consultations and prescription delivery in the United States for adults aged 18 and over.[4][11] It is accessed through a website or mobile app.[12]
