Hassan Remilekun, known professionally as RemmiQue, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. He is known for a musical style that incorporates elements of Afrobeats, R&B, and soul.[1] In 2025, he released his debut extended play (EP), iQue, under the MGV Entertainment label.

Early life and education

Hassan Remilekun was born and raised in Mushin, Lagos State, and is a native of Osun State.[2] He attended Eko Boys High School in Mushin for his secondary education.[2]

RemmiQue later studied Entrepreneurship and Business Management at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), where he earned a Bachelor's degree.[3][4] He has cited his upbringing in Mushin as a primary influence on his songwriting and musical identity.[5]

Career

RemmiQue began his musical career in Lagos, incorporating Afro-fusion and soul into his work.[6] He released his debut single, "Maayi," in 2021.[2] Between 2022 and 2024, he released several singles, including "Adura," "Liga Liga," "Omo Aye," "Cold Samaritan," and "Girl."[3]

In early 2025, he signed a recording contract with MGV Entertainment.[7] On 27 June 2025, he released his debut five-track project, iQue EP.[8] The EP features the tracks "Vwzard," "Reason," "Medicine," "Alubarika," and "Story."[9]

Artistry

RemmiQue's music is described as a blend of Afrobeats, Afro-pop, and Afro-fusion.[3][4] Having initially focused on hip hop, his sound evolved to include melodic hooks and rhythmic delivery.[2] His lyrics often explore themes related to urban life and personal experiences from his upbringing in Mushin.[3][5]
