From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rhino Automotive (legally UAB "Rhino Automotive", also publicly branded as Rhino Racing) is a Lithuanian automotive manufacturer based in Kaunas.[3] Coverage of the company has focused mainly on the Rhino RR01, a low-volume component car first presented in 2023.[4][5] In March 2026, LRT reported that the first production RR01 had been shipped to a customer in the United States and that customer deliveries had begun after the completion of certification procedures.[6]

History
Rhino Automotive was registered in Lithuania on 16 September 2022.[1] Early reporting identified Vėjas Pajarskas and Julius Garnelis as the founders of the company and of the RR01 project.[2]
The RR01 prototype was publicly presented in late 2023. Automotive publications described the model as Lithuania's first domestically developed supercar or kit car, and noted that the prototype used an Audi R8-derived V10 engine.[4][5]
In 2025, reporting on a production-ready version of the RR01 described revised bodywork, a redesigned interior and a change from the earlier Audi-derived V10 concept to a Ford-sourced 5.0-litre V8 paired with a Porsche dual-clutch transmission.[7]
Current status
As of 29 March 2026, LRT reported that Rhino had begun customer deliveries of the RR01 after completing certification procedures and obtaining manufacturer VIN numbers for the model.[6] The same report said that the first production car had been shipped from Kaunas to a customer in the United States.[6]
LRT also reported that 54 per cent of the RR01's parts were produced in Kaunas, including the chassis, suspension, body, glass and interior components, allowing the car to qualify as a Lithuanian-made vehicle under local certification rules.[6]
Rhino stated on its website on 1 April 2026 that an RR01 had been shipped from its Kaunas workshop to a customer in Pennsylvania and that additional cars were being prepared for customers in Europe and North America.[8] In a separate update published on 16 April 2026, Rhino said that each completed RR01 leaves its workshop with a VIN plate and a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO).[9]
Rhino RR01
Early coverage described the RR01 as a kit car or component car built around a bespoke aluminium monocoque chassis and body, initially presented with an Audi-derived V10 engine.[4][5]
Later reporting on the production-ready version described the car as using a Ford-sourced 5.0-litre V8 and Porsche PDK transmission, while retaining its low-volume component-car format.[7][6]
