Draft:Rodney Street (Liverpool ward)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rodney Street was a former electoral ward in the city of Liverpool, England. It was one of the original municipal wards created following the Municipal Corporations Act 1835, which established a system of elected local government in boroughs across England.
Overview
Geography
The ward covered part of central Liverpool, including Rodney Street and its immediate surroundings. The area is now within the modern Canning ward, which includes several notable landmarks such as the Philharmonic Hall and parts of the University of Liverpool. Rodney Street itself is a historic street within the city, noted for its Georgian architecture and association with prominent residents, including William Ewart Gladstone.
