Sakuya (Japanese: 咲哉 藤永, Hepburn: Sakuya Fujinaga; born November 18, 2007)[1] is a Japanese singer, known mononymously as Sakuya. He is a member of the male idol group NCT and its sub-unit NCT Wish, under SM Entertainment. He was born in Ishikawa Prefecture[2]. He debuted in February 2024 and is the youngest member of NCT.

Early life
He was born on November 18, 2007, in Ishikawa Prefecture, at the age of eight, he moved to Saitama. Influenced by his parents, who were fans of K-pop, he developed an admiration for K-pop artists[3][4]. In 2022, he joined SM Entertainment as a trainee through an online audition. His trainee period lasted approximately one year[5].
On July 14, 2023, his visuals were revealed as a trainee appearing on the pre-debut reality program NCT Universe: LASTART[6]. Beginning on July 26, he appeared on the show as an SM Entertainment trainee. On September 7, 2023, it was announced through NCT Universe: LASTART that he would debut as a member of the group NCT New Team (tentative)[a][7]. On October 8, 2023, the group released their pre-debut digital single "Hands Up" under the name NCT New Team[8]. On January 18, 2024, the group name was officially announced as NCT Wish[9]. On February 21, they performed their debut song "WISH" at SMTOWN LIVE 2024 SMCU PALACE @TOKYO held at Tokyo Dome, marking their official debut as NCT WISH[10].

His blood type is AB, and his MBTI personality type is ENFP[11]. He has been described as having a curious personality[11]. The given name “Sakuya” is said to carry the wish that he would bring smiles to others, likened to flowers in bloom[12]. He has cited "an unknown bud" as a phrase representing himself, and his personal motto is "Thank you very much"[11].
Hobbies and interests
He played soccer for approximately nine years, primarily in the position of centre-back[13]. He has also had experience studying the Japanese tea ceremony[14]. His hobbies include visiting bakeries, giving gifts, playing soccer, shopping, gaming, and photography, particularly using instant cameras[15]. The group's member colors were determined based on Sakuya's responses to the question "What do the WISH members mean to you?", in which he described each member's image by associating it with a color. These responses were later adopted as the official member colors[21][22][23].
Regarding his own member color, Sakuya initially expressed a preference for "white"; however, other members stated that "pink" best represented him, and as a result, his official member color was designated as pink.
