Samara Gill is an Australian-born journalist, television presenter and political commentator based in the United Kingdom. She is known for her work with TalkTV, where she presents the current affairs programme Triggered with Samara Gill and regularly appears as a commentator on political discussion programmes.[1]

Gill previously worked as a producer on several TalkTV programmes before moving into on-air commentary and presenting. Her work focuses on British politics, media culture and international affairs.[2]
Early life and education
Gill was born in Melbourne, Australia, to businesswoman Mirabai Winford, founder of the children's clothing brand Purebaby, and businessman Sanjay Gill. Samara is half Indian.
She attended St Catherine's School in Toorak, Victoria.
Gill developed an interest in journalism at a young age. At eight years old she began creating mock news reports which she filmed and uploaded to YouTube.
She later moved to the United Kingdom where she studied journalism and politics at Regent's University London. During her studies she developed a particular interest in broadcast journalism and political commentary.[2]
Career
Early media work
Gill began her media career working in television production. She worked as a booker on the TalkTV programme PrimeTime, presented by Rosanna Lockwood, where she helped secure guests and assist with editorial planning.
At the age of 24 she became head producer of The Political Asylum, the TalkTV political discussion programme hosted by Kevin O'Sullivan.
During this period she also began appearing on air as a guest commentator discussing British politics and cultural issues.

Gill later transitioned into a presenting role on TalkTV. She became the youngest host on the network when she began presenting the weekly political commentary programme Triggered with Samara Gill, which focuses on cultural and political debates.[3]
