History
Saronic Technologies was founded in 2022 by Dino Mavrookas, Rob Lehman, and Meghan McClain.[1] In 2023, the company announced a $55 million funding round to expand development of its autonomous vessels and software.[1]
In 2025, Reuters reported that Saronic had raised $600 million in a Series C round that valued the company at $4 billion.[2] Around the same time, the company said it planned an autonomous shipyard known as Port Alpha.[4][5] In April 2025, Axios reported that Saronic had acquired Gulf Craft in Louisiana to build a larger unmanned vessel called Marauder.[6]
In June 2025, Saronic Technologies was ranked 19th on CNBC's annual Disruptor 50 list of venture-backed technology companies.[7]
