Sathishkumar Veerappampalayam Easwaramoorthy is an Indian computer scientist and academic based in Malaysia. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Sunway University. His research areas include data science, machine learning, data mining, artificial intelligence and predictive modelling.[1]

Education
Sathishkumar completed a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology at Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, in 2013. He received a Master of Engineering degree in Biometrics and Cyber Security from PSG College of Technology in 2015. He was selected through the NIIED Korean Government Scholarship Program Graduate Scholarship 2017 University Track for doctoral study in South Korea."NIIED KGSP Graduate Scholarship 2017 Results". Career
Sathishkumar worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Kongu Engineering College in Erode, India, in 2021. He later held postdoctoral research appointments in South Korea, including at Hanyang University and Jeonbuk National University.[1]
He subsequently joined Sunway University in Malaysia, where he serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.[1]
In April 2025, Sathishkumar visited the Next Generation Networks Laboratory (NGNLab) at Anna University as an alumnus, where he interacted with students and discussed research directions related to data mining, predictive analytics, intelligent systems, and 5G/6G applications.[2]
He was also listed as a delegate for the transnational workshop Smart Technologies for Societal Health (STSH 2024), jointly organized by Anna University, Chennai, India, and Queen's University Belfast, United Kingdom.[3]
Research
Sathishkumar's research has focused on applied data science and machine learning. His work has included studies in predictive modelling, intelligent transportation systems, smart-city analytics, healthcare analytics, energy prediction and environmental monitoring.[1]
His publications include articles in journals such as Computer Communications, Scientific Reports, Alexandria Engineering Journal, Fire Ecology, Ageing Research Reviews and ICT Express.[1]

Sunway University reported that Sathishkumar was included among its researchers appearing in the Stanford University and Elsevier list of the world's top 2% scientists for single-year citation impact based on Scopus citation data.[15][16]
In 2025, Sunway University reported that he received the AI & Data Science Impact Award at the ELEVATEX Awards 2025.[17]
