Biography
Personal life
Yoro was born in Amsterdam.[1] His father is from Ivory Coast, who moved to Paris, France and later to the Netherlands. Much of his family emigrated, and only his grandmother is still living in Ivory Coast.[2] His sister, Tara Yoro, is a Dutch athlete and former national champion in long jump. Yoro is also related to Dutch international volleyball player Nika Daalderop.[3][4]
Career
Yoro started skating when he was four years old at the Jaap Edenbaan in Amsterdam. He became a member of the, then, newly formed development team of Team Jumbo-Visma in 2019. He later moved to the main team. In the 2021-22 season he won the bronze medal at the 2022 KNSB Dutch Sprint Championships and competed internationally at the 2021–22 ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Calgary. Following a period of limited results, he left the team in 2024 and briefly considered retiring from the sport before continuing his career with renewed motivation.[5]
After his departure from Jumbo-Visma, Yoro joined Team Novus. During this period, he improved his performances and continued to compete near the top level in national competitions and competed internationally at the 2024–25 ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Tomaszow (POL) and 2025–26 ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Hamar (NOR).[6]
In 2026, Yoro signed with Team IKO-X2O Badkamers.[6]
