Early life
Dang was born and raised in Pasadena, California to Chinese-American parents. Her father was born in Maui, Hawaii and her mother was born in Chinatown, Los Angeles.[2] Dang attributes her interest in acting to her parents, who nurtured her love for the performing arts through numerous dance and musical theatre programs in her adolescence. She attended San Marino High School and studied business administration at the University of California, Riverside. Dang found her love for performing at an early age, dancing for the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks at the age of 13. She later went on to spend three seasons dancing for the NBA Los Angeles Clippers Spirit Dance Team and three seasons with the NFL Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders.[3]
Career
Dang got her start in acting as a child, appearing in films, television, and commercials, such as Lost & Found (1991) and Danny (2001). Her other early on-screen credits include Baby (2007) and The Gene Generation (2007). Dang rekindled her career a decade later with roles in East Los High, Major Crimes, and The Romanoffs.
In February 2020, it was announced that Dang was cast as a series regular in The CW's reboot of the 1970s TV series, Kung Fu.[4] Kung Fu premiered on April 7, 2021, attracting 1.4 million viewers.[5]
