Shawn Tibbitts is an American chef and restaurateur based in Tacoma, Washington. He is the owner and head chef of Tibbitts @ Fern Hill, a restaurant in Tacoma.

Early life and career

Tibbitts was born in Germany and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He began his culinary career in the late 1990s, working in Tacoma kitchens including Stanley & Seafort's, operated by Restaurants Unlimited.[1]

He has worked in hotels, casinos, and restaurant kitchens. In 2017, he opened Tibbitts @ Fern Hill in Tacoma's Fern Hill neighborhood. The restaurant operates with a limited kitchen setup, including portable induction burners.[2]

His mother, Marcella Louise Tibbitts, died in December 2016. He has observed an annual Mother’s Day tradition of providing free meals to the community.[9]
